Day 4 · January 4
Kids Corner — Day 4
Genesis 8:1–10:32 · Matthew 4:12–4:25 · Psalm 4:1–4:8 · Proverbs 1:20–1:23
Today’s story
God remembers Noah, dries the earth, and renews his blessing after the flood. Yet even after judgment, sin survives in Noah’s family, and the nations spread across the earth, setting the stage for God’s redemptive plan.
Jesus begins his public ministry, calls disciples, announces the kingdom, and heals the sick. Light dawns in Galilee as Isaiah’s promise comes alive in him.
Psalm 4 moves from anguish to peace. God hears the righteous when they call and gives deeper joy than earthly abundance can offer.
Wisdom stands in public and calls simple people to turn. God’s truth is not hidden from the world; the question is whether we will listen.
The story in children’s words
God did not forget Noah and the animals in the boat. He sent a wind, and the water slowly went down. Noah sent out a dove, and one day the dove did not come back. The ground was dry, and everyone came out of the boat. God put a rainbow in the sky as a promise sign. Then Jesus began His work. He told people the good news about God's kingdom. He called fishermen to follow Him, and He healed people who were sick. Jesus is the light God promised to a world sitting in darkness.
It points to Jesus
Jesus is the great light who steps into a darkened world and calls ordinary people to follow him. He is not merely a teacher of truth but the very light of life.
