- New Testament: JOHN 16:1-33
- Psalm: PSALM 119:65-80
- Proverb: PROVERBS 16:4-5
Old Testament
Nathan confronts David's sin. David confesses, receives forgiveness, but still faces painful consequences.
New Testament
Jesus prepares His disciples for persecution and promises the Spirit of truth, who will guide them and glorify Christ.
Psalm
The psalmist says even affliction can become a teacher when it drives us toward God's word.
Proverb
Pride is detestable to the LORD; God remains sovereign over His purposes.
Discover
David needs a prophet to expose truth. Jesus gives His people the Spirit of truth, who convicts and leads us back to Christ.
Reflect
How do I respond when Scripture or another believer exposes something I do not want to face?
Fellowship
Share how loving correction can become grace.
Go around the group and complete this sentence: 'This week I saw Jesus in ______.' Keep it simple. Give everyone room to answer and listen for something you may have missed.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, convict me without letting me hide, and always lead me back to the grace of Jesus. Amen.
Live
Receive one correction without defensiveness.
