Day 165 · June 14
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 1 KINGS 12:20-13:34
- New Testament: ACTS 9:26-43
- Psalm: PSALM 132:1-18
- Proverb: PROVERBS 17:6
Old Testament
Jeroboam creates counterfeit worship, and even a prophet who spoke God’s word disobeys it. Religious activity cannot replace obedience to God.
New Testament
Barnabas welcomes Saul when others fear him. Peter heals Aeneas and raises Tabitha, and many turn to the Lord. Jesus continues working through His people.
Psalm
God remembers His covenant and His promise concerning David’s line.
Proverb
Family honor is a gift, but truth and faithfulness matter more than appearances.
Discover
False worship multiplies in Kings, but Acts shows the fruit of genuine faith in Jesus: healing, courage, generosity, and new life.
Reflect
Who needs encouragement from me instead of suspicion or fear?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
Encourage one believer who may feel overlooked or doubted. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
