It All Points to Jesus

Day 169 · June 18

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

After Carmel, Elijah collapses in fear and exhaustion. God meets him gently, speaks in quietness, and sends him back with purpose and a companion.

New Testament

Herod attacks the church and Peter is miraculously freed from prison. Human rulers boast and perish, but God’s purposes continue.

Psalm

Every line repeats the foundation of hope: His faithful love endures forever.

Proverb

God’s faithful love outlasts every changing circumstance.

Discover

Elijah’s weakness does not cancel his calling. Jesus is gentle with weary servants and continues His mission through fragile people.

Reflect

Where do I need to receive God’s gentle strength instead of pretending I am strong?

Fellowship

Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.

Live

Receive rest as a gift from God, then return to your calling. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
