Day 176 · June 25
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 2 KINGS 8:1-9:13
- New Testament: ACTS 16:16-40
- Psalm: PSALM 143:1-12
- Proverb: PROVERBS 17:26
Old Testament
Kings and kingdoms continue changing, and Jehu is anointed to execute judgment on Ahab’s house. God is patient, but His warnings are not empty.
New Testament
Paul and Silas worship in prison. An earthquake opens the doors, but the greater miracle is a jailer asking how to be saved and believing in the Lord Jesus.
Psalm
David asks for mercy, guidance, and the Spirit’s leading.
Proverb
Justice requires restraint and truth. Punishing the innocent is never righteous.
Discover
Paul and Silas sing while chained because Jesus is still Lord in the night. No prison can imprison the gospel.
Reflect
Can I worship Jesus before my circumstances change?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
Praise Jesus before you know how the problem will end. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
