The story in children’s words

The tribes explained that their altar by the river was not for burning gifts at all. It was a witness, a sign to remind everyone's children that they all served the same God. So the trouble ended, and the people were glad. Then Joshua, who was very old, called all the leaders together one more time. He warned them to hold fast to God and never turn to the gods of the other nations. Later, some men tried to trick Jesus with a hard question about people rising from the dead. Jesus answered that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for everyone is alive to Him. Jesus is alive forever, and all who belong to God will live with Him too.
