Day 123 · May 3
Kids Corner — Day 123
Judges 17:1–18:31 · John 3:1–21 · Psalm 104:1–23 · Proverbs 14:20–21
Today’s story
Judges shows private religion turning into idolatry and an entire tribe choosing convenience over obedience.
Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one can enter God's Kingdom without new birth from above. God loved the world and gave His Son.
Creation displays God's wisdom, order, and sustaining care.
The poor are often ignored, but mercy toward the needy is blessed.
The story in children’s words
In those days Israel had no king, and everyone did what was right in his own eyes. A man named Micah made an idol out of silver and set up his own little house of gods, and he hired a Levite to be his priest. Then men from the tribe of Dan came, took Micah's idol and his priest away, and set the idol up in their own city. God's people were mixing up the worship of God with idols of their own making. At night, a ruler named Nicodemus came to Jesus to ask Him questions. Jesus told him, "You must be born anew," and that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. When people had no true king and made their own gods, God sent Jesus, the true King and the light of the world.
It points to Jesus
Judges shows hearts inventing religion; Jesus says hearts must be made new. We do not need a better self-made system. We need new life from God.
Talk about it
Talk about what 'born from above' means in practical everyday life.
