The story in children’s words
Zophar said the joy of the wicked lasts only a short time, like a dream that flies away. Job answered with a hard question: "Why do the wicked live, grow old, and become strong?" He saw wicked people spending their days in comfort while telling God to leave them alone. Then Eliphaz spoke untrue words against Job, saying he had taken from the poor and sent widows away empty. Still, Eliphaz also said true words: "Return to the Almighty, and you will be built up, and light will shine on your ways." Paul began his letter by praising God, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He said God comforts us in all our trouble so that we can comfort others. Paul had been weighed down so much that he despaired of life, but God, who raises the dead, delivered him. Jesus is God's comfort for suffering people, and He teaches us to comfort others too.
