The story in children’s words
Job listed the honest way he had lived, as if answering in a court. He said he had not withheld food from the poor, the widow, or the child with no father. He had not made gold his hope, had not rejoiced when his enemy fell, and had opened his doors to the traveler. "Oh, that I had one to hear me!" he cried; "Let the Almighty answer me!" Then Job's words ended, and young Elihu began to speak, angry with Job and with the three friends. Elihu said God speaks again and again, in dreams and even in pain, to keep a person's soul away from the pit. Paul wrote that God's people are a letter of Christ, written not with ink but with the Spirit of God on hearts. He said the veil is taken away when someone turns to the Lord, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. In Jesus the veil is lifted, and the Spirit changes us to be more and more like Him.
