Today’s story

Darkness falls over Egypt, and the Lord institutes Passover on the eve of final judgment. The lamb’s blood marks out a redeemed people who will live because another dies in their place.

Jesus tells a parable in which latecomers receive the master’s generosity, then predicts his suffering and teaches that greatness means servanthood. His kingdom runs on grace, not comparison.

Psalm 25 begins with trust, repentance, and dependence on God’s guidance. The humble are taught his way.

The ant exposes the folly of laziness by embodying foresight, diligence, and quiet wisdom. Small disciplines shape the future.

The story in children’s words

Locusts ate every green thing left in Egypt, and thick darkness covered the land for three days, but God's people had light in their homes. Then God told His people to take a perfect lamb, put its blood on their doorposts, and eat it ready to travel. That night God would pass through Egypt, but when He saw the blood, He would pass over those homes and keep them safe. It was called the LORD's Passover. Jesus told a story about a kind master who paid every worker in his field the same full pay, even those who came last. Then Jesus said He did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life to save many. Jesus is our Passover Lamb, whose blood keeps us safe.

It points to Jesus

Jesus is the true Passover Lamb whose blood shelters his people from judgment. He is also the servant King who gives his life as a ransom for many.

Talk about it

Why is the Passover central to Israel’s identity?
