Today’s story
Proverb Harmful schemes often return upon the one who sets them in motion. Discover Jesus October ends where the gospel brings us: exposed by the living Word but invited to the throne of grace. Jesus knows our weakness, yet He is without sin. We do not hide from God; through Christ our High Priest, we draw near. Reflect What weakness do I need to bring openly to Jesus at the throne of grace? Fellowship Share one truth from today’s reading that helps you see Jesus more clearly. Ask how that truth should change the way you live today.
The story in children’s words
God made Ezekiel a watchman, like a guard on a city wall who must blow the trumpet and warn the people of danger. Then Ezekiel showed the people a picture of what was coming. He drew the city of Jerusalem on a tile and lay beside it for many days, and he ate only a little bread and water. He also cut his hair and divided it into three parts to show how the people would be scattered. God was sad because Jerusalem had turned to idols, but He promised to leave a few people who would remember Him and know that He is the LORD. The letter to the Hebrews says God's word is living and sharp, and it shows what is in our hearts. Best of all, Jesus is our great High Priest who understands our weakness, so we can come to God's throne of grace with boldness and find mercy and help. Jesus always has mercy ready for us when we come to Him.
