Today’s story

New Testament Hebrews declares Jesus greater than Moses. Moses served faithfully in God’s house; Christ is the Son over the house. Believers are warned not to harden their hearts but to encourage one another today. Psalm Creation displays God’s wisdom, order, provision, and majesty. Proverb Hatred can hide behind pleasant words, but concealed evil is eventually exposed. Discover Jesus Ezekiel falls before the glory of God; Hebrews tells us that this glory is finally known in the Son. Jesus is greater than Moses, and His voice must not be treated casually. Today is the day to listen. Reflect Is my heart soft to Jesus’ voice today? Fellowship Share one truth from today’s reading that helps you see Jesus more clearly. Ask how that truth should change the way you live today.

The story in children’s words

Ezekiel was a priest living far from home with God's people who had been taken captive. One day the heavens opened, and he saw a wonderful sight. Four living creatures came in a storm of fire and lightning, each with four faces and four wings, and wheels full of eyes moved beside them. Above them was a bright throne, and on the throne was the glory of the LORD, shining like a rainbow. God told Ezekiel to go and speak His words to His people, even though they had turned away and would not listen well. God gave Ezekiel a scroll to eat, and it tasted as sweet as honey in his mouth. The letter to the Hebrews tells us not to harden our hearts like the people long ago, but to listen to God's voice today. Jesus is greater than Moses, and He is faithful over God's house, so let us listen to Him today.
