The story in children’s words

Jerusalem's bright gold had grown dim. Her children were thirsty and asked for bread, but there was none to give them, because of the sins of her prophets and priests. The people's king, God's anointed, was caught, and the nation was scattered. The book ends with a prayer: "Remember us, LORD. Bring us back to Yourself, and make our days new again, as they were long ago." The Hebrews letter warns us not to drift away from this great salvation. We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels and crowned with glory because He suffered death. By God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone. He became flesh and blood like us, His brothers and sisters, so He could defeat the devil and set us free. Jesus is our kind and faithful High Priest, and He helps us whenever we are tested.
