The story in children’s words

The prophet sat in darkness and sorrow, as if God had shut out his prayers and left him in a pit. But then he remembered something, and hope came alive again. "Because of the LORD's great love, we are not finished. His mercies never fail. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness!" He said it is good to wait quietly for the LORD, because God will not cast His people off forever. From the deep pit the prophet cried out, and God drew near and said, "Do not be afraid." Long ago God spoke through the prophets, but now He has spoken to us by His Son. The Son shines with God's glory, made the whole world, washed our sins away, and sat down at God's right hand. That Son, greater than all the angels, is Jesus.
