Day 308 · November 4
Kids Corner — Day 308
Ezekiel 10:1–11:25 · Hebrews 6:1–20 · Psalm 105:16–36 · Proverbs 27:1–2
Today’s story
God's glory departs from the defiled Temple, yet He promises to gather His scattered people and give them an undivided heart and a new spirit.
God's promise is certain. Hope in Him becomes an anchor for the soul because He cannot lie.
Joseph's story shows God working through suffering.
Do not boast about tomorrow; honor others rather than yourself.
The story in children’s words
In Ezekiel's vision, the bright glory of the LORD rose up from the temple and went out, because the people would not stop sinning. It was a very sad day. But God did not forget His people who were far away in a strange land. He promised, "I will gather you back. I will take away your hard, stony heart, and give you a soft new heart. You will be my people, and I will be your God." The psalm tells how God took care of His people long ago, sending Joseph and then Moses, and doing great wonders in Egypt. The letter to the Hebrews says our hope is like a strong anchor that holds us safe. That hope holds fast because Jesus has gone ahead of us into heaven itself. Jesus is our anchor, and God's promises will never let us drift away.
It points to Jesus
Jesus is our sure hope. Circumstances move, but God's promise in Christ is anchored beyond what we can see.
