Day 360 · December 24
Kids Corner — Day 360
Zechariah 9:1–17 · Revelation 17:1–18 · Psalm 145:1–21 · Proverbs 30:32
Today’s story
Zechariah announces a humble King coming to Jerusalem on a donkey, bringing salvation and peace. The prophecy unmistakably points toward Jesus.
Revelation portrays seductive Babylon - wealth, immorality, and anti-God power - and shows that her apparent splendor will not last.
One generation tells the next about God’s mighty acts. His kingdom is everlasting and His compassion reaches all He has made. Proverb Summary After prideful or foolish speech, wisdom knows when to stop talking. Discover Jesus On the eve of Christmas, Zechariah gives us the King we need: not a swaggering tyrant but Jesus, humble and bringing salvation. Reflect Do I prefer the humble kingdom of Jesus or the impressive promises of Babylon? Fellowship Tell someone younger what you have learned about Jesus this year.
The story in children’s words
Zechariah sang a joyful song: "Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you!" He is right and good, and He brings saving. He comes gentle and lowly, riding on a donkey, on a colt. He will cut off the war horse and the battle bow, and speak peace to the nations. His rule will reach from sea to sea, to the ends of the earth. God also promised to save His people like a shepherd saves his flock, and they would shine like jewels in a crown. Then John saw a rich and wicked city called Babylon riding on the beast, full of pride and the blood of God's saints. But the angel said the kings would make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb would win, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings. That gentle King on the donkey is Jesus, the King of kings.
