Day 180 · June 29
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 2 KINGS 15:1-16:20
- New Testament: ACTS 19:13-41
- Psalm: PSALM 147:1-20
- Proverb: PROVERBS 18:4-5
Old Testament
King after king repeats the sins of earlier generations. Ahaz embraces idolatry and reshapes worship around pagan patterns. Compromise spreads when God’s Word is displaced.
New Testament
Counterfeit spiritual power is exposed in Ephesus. The gospel disrupts idolatry and commerce because allegiance to Jesus changes what people worship and value.
Psalm
God heals the brokenhearted, rules creation, and delights in those who hope in His faithful love.
Proverb
Words can become deep waters; wisdom should be a life-giving stream.
Discover
The name of Jesus cannot be used as magic. Christ calls for real allegiance, and His lordship threatens every idol that competes for the heart.
Reflect
Is Jesus truly Lord of my life, or merely a name I use?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
Let your conduct show that the name of Jesus is holy to you. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
