Day 183 · July 2
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: 2 KINGS 20:1-22:2
- New Testament: ACTS 21:18-36
- Psalm: PSALM 150:1-6
- Proverb: PROVERBS 18:9-10
Old Testament
Hezekiah becomes ill, prays, and receives mercy, yet later proudly displays his treasures. Manasseh leads Judah into terrible evil, but young Josiah begins differently: he does what is right before the LORD.
New Testament
Paul reports what God has done among the Gentiles and then faces violent opposition in Jerusalem. Even in chaos, the gospel has carried him exactly where Christ said it would.
Psalm
The Psalter ends where worship belongs: everything that has breath is called to praise the LORD.
Proverb
Laziness destroys alongside deliberate wrongdoing. Faithfulness honors God in ordinary work.
Discover
June closes with praise. Kings show why we cannot save ourselves; Acts shows the risen Jesus sending His witnesses. The story ends this month where every story should end - with God receiving the glory.
Reflect
After a month of reading, what gives me the greatest reason to praise Jesus?
Fellowship
Share one place in today’s reading where you saw Jesus more clearly. Then discuss the reflection question together.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, keep my eyes on You and shape my life by Your Word. Holy Spirit, give me grace to trust, obey, and follow You today. Amen.
Live
End June by naming three reasons Jesus deserves your praise. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day.
