It All Points to Jesus

Day 185 · July 4

A devotional for today

Today’s readings

Old Testament

Judah’s decline reaches Jerusalem’s destruction and exile. Persistent rebellion finally brings the consequences God had warned about.

New Testament

Paul remains faithful under pressure. He uses his rights wisely while refusing to deny the truth about Jesus.

Psalm

God’s Son is the true King; rebellion against Him cannot finally succeed.

Proverb

Listen before answering; quick words often miss the truth.

Discover

Earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but Psalm 2 points beyond them to God’s anointed King. Jesus is the King no empire can overthrow.

Reflect

Am I resisting Jesus in any part of my life?

Fellowship

Why is listening an important part of faithful Christian witness?

Prayer

King Jesus, rule my heart and make me faithful when following You is costly. Amen.

Live

Listen first. Then speak truth with grace.
