Day 71 · March 12
A devotional for today
Today’s readings
- Old Testament: NUMBERS 16:41-18:32
- New Testament: MARK 16:1-20
- Psalm: PSALM 55:1-23
- Proverb: PROVERBS 11:7
Discover
Look at the pictures God gives us today. Aaron stands between the dead and the living. A dead staff suddenly comes to life. Priests stand between sinful people and a holy God. Then Mark 16: the tomb is empty. We needed someone to stand between sin and life, bring us into God's presence, and defeat death itself.
Jesus did all three. Yesterday we stood at the cross. Today we stand at the empty tomb. He is risen.
Reflect
The women went to the tomb expecting death. Instead, they discovered life. Sometimes we look at circumstances and believe there is no hope. Where do I need resurrection hope today?
Fellowship
Talk with someone about this: What difference does the resurrection of Jesus make in the way we face fear, suffering, and even death?
Prayer
Father, thank You that the cross was not the end. Thank You that Jesus conquered death and gives us living hope. Help me carry that hope into whatever I face today. Lord Jesus, help me not only to know Your Word but to live it. Transform my heart so that my life reflects You more each day. Amen.
Live
Whatever burden you are carrying, remember: The tomb is empty. Jesus is alive. Give your burden to Him and walk today with resurrection hope.
