The story in children’s words

Joshua led God's people to the Jordan River, and the water was deep and wide. The priests carried God's special ark into the river, and the water stopped flowing. All the people walked across on dry ground. Then they set up twelve big stones, so their children would always remember what God had done. Later, Jesus told a story about a great supper. Many people who were invited made excuses and would not come. So the master filled his house with poor and hurt people from the streets instead. Jesus also said that everyone who lifts himself up will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be lifted up. Jesus invites everyone to His great feast, and He honors the humble who come.
