The story in children’s words

The Midianites stole Israel's food year after year, so the people hid in caves and cried out to God. God's angel came to a young man named Gideon, who was threshing wheat in hiding. The angel said, "The LORD is with you, mighty man of valor!" Gideon felt small and weak, so he asked God for a sign with a fleece of wool. God was patient and gave the signs, first a wet fleece on dry ground, then a dry fleece on wet ground. That night, soldiers took Jesus away, and Peter followed far behind. Three times Peter said he did not know Jesus, and then the rooster crowed, and Peter went out and wept. Jesus was taken to Pilate and then to Herod, who mocked Him and sent Him back. Even when everyone turned away, Jesus stayed faithful for us, and He can make weak people strong, like Gideon.
