The story in children’s words

God's people were in trouble again, and the Philistines ruled over them. An angel came to a woman who had no children and told her she would have a son. His hair must never be cut, for he would belong to God and begin to save Israel. The boy was named Samson, and God's Spirit made him very strong. One day he tore a lion apart with his bare hands, and later he found honey inside the lion's body. He told a hard riddle about it at his feast, but his wife told the answer to her people. Many years later, John saw Jesus coming and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" Then Andrew, Peter, Philip, and Nathanael began to follow Jesus, who promised them they would see heaven opened.
