Day 197 · July 14
Kids Corner — Day 197
1 Chronicles 22:1–23:32 · Romans 3:9–31 · Psalm 12:1–8 · Proverbs 19:13–14
Today’s story
David prepares for the Temple and organizes the Levites. He knows he will not build it, yet faithfully prepares the way for another.
Paul reaches the great conclusion: all have sinned, and righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not works of the law.
God’s words are pure even when human words are unreliable.
Family conflict can be painful; wisdom seeks peace.
The story in children’s words
David said the place of the altar would be the place of God's house. He gathered stone, iron, bronze, and cedar wood in great amounts to get ready for it. He told his young son Solomon, "You will build a house for the LORD, for you will be a man of peace." David charged all the leaders to help Solomon and to set their hearts to seek God. He also set the Levites in their groups for the work and the singing in God's house. Paul wrote a hard truth: no one is righteous, not even one, and everyone has sinned and falls short of God's glory. But then comes the best news — God makes sinners right with Himself freely, by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ.
It points to Jesus
Here the companion’s title shines: we all fall short, but Jesus is the One through whom God makes sinners right. The Temple preparations point toward access to God; Christ opens that access.
Talk about it
How would you explain justification by faith in simple words?
