Day 208 · July 25
Kids Corner — Day 208
2 Chronicles 19:1–20:37 · Romans 10:14–11:12 · Psalm 21:1–13 · Proverbs 20:4–6
Today’s story
Jehoshaphat appoints judges and then faces a vast army. Judah prays, worships, and watches God deliver them.
Faith comes by hearing, yet many reject the message. Paul insists God has not rejected His people and preserves a remnant by grace.
The king rejoices in God’s strength and salvation.
Diligence prepares; integrity leaves a trustworthy legacy.
The story in children’s words
Jehoshaphat set judges in the cities and told them, "Judge carefully, for you judge for the LORD, not for man." Then three enemy peoples came together against Judah with a great army. Jehoshaphat was afraid, called everyone to fast and pray, and said, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You." God answered, "Do not be afraid; the battle is not yours, but God's." The next morning the singers went out first, singing praise to God, and God set the enemies against each other until they were all defeated. Judah gathered the riches left behind for three days, and praised God in a valley of blessing. Paul wrote that people cannot believe in Jesus unless someone is sent to tell them the good news. That is why Jesus' story must keep being told, so everyone can hear and call on Him.
It points to Jesus
Judah admits, “We do not know what to do,” and turns toward God. Romans shows that rescue is grace from beginning to end. Jesus is where helpless people turn.
Talk about it
Why can helplessness become a doorway to deeper faith?
