Day 210 · July 27
Kids Corner — Day 210
2 Chronicles 24:1–25:28 · Romans 12:1–21 · Psalm 22:19–31 · Proverbs 20:8–10
Today’s story
Joash begins under godly influence but later turns away; Amaziah also mixes obedience with pride. Partial faithfulness proves fragile.
Romans 12 calls believers to offer themselves to God, renew their minds, use their gifts humbly, love sincerely, and overcome evil with good.
Psalm 22 moves from suffering toward praise among the nations.
Justice requires honest standards and impartial judgment.
The story in children’s words
Little Joash became king at seven years old, and while the priest Jehoiada lived, Joash did what was right. He had a chest set at God's house gate, and the people happily filled it with money until God's house was repaired and made strong again. But after Jehoiada died, Joash listened to bad leaders, turned to idols, and even let Jehoiada's son Zechariah be stoned for speaking God's word. Joash was wounded by enemies and killed by his own servants. His son Amaziah began well but did not follow God with a whole heart, and he too was killed after turning away. Paul wrote how Jesus' people should live: love without pretending, hate what is evil, hold on to what is good, and overcome evil with good. That new way of life is our gift back to Jesus, who gave Himself for us.
It points to Jesus
Jesus gave Himself for us; Romans asks for our response: offer your whole life to God. Grace produces transformed living, not halfhearted religion.
Talk about it
Which command in Romans 12 would most change our fellowship if we practiced it?
