Today’s story

Hezekiah invites the people back to Passover worship and organizes generous provision for the priests and Levites. Renewal spreads through repentance, worship, and giving.

The strong are called to bear with the weak, build up neighbors, and follow Christ’s self-giving example as the gospel moves toward the nations.

David asks God to teach him, forgive him, and guide him in truth.

Laziness leads to loss; honest work and wise knowledge have value.

The story in children’s words

King Hezekiah invited all God's people to come to Jerusalem and keep the Passover again. Some people laughed at the messengers, but many humbled themselves and came. Hezekiah prayed for those who were not fully clean, and God heard him and healed the people. They celebrated for seven days, and then for seven more days, with great joy. Afterward they broke down the idols and altars, and the people gave so much food and gifts for God's house that great heaps were left over. Paul wrote that the strong should help the weak, just as Christ did not please Himself. He said Christ came so that all peoples could praise God and have hope. Jesus is the Root of Jesse, and in Him all nations put their hope.

It points to Jesus

Passover remembers rescue by sacrifice. Romans shows the heart of the One to whom that rescue points: Christ did not live to please Himself but gave Himself for others.

Talk about it

What would a Christ-centered fellowship look like when strong and weak believers walk together?
