The story in children’s words

Josiah kept a Passover like no other since the days of Samuel, and he gave thousands of lambs so everyone could share. Later Josiah would not listen to a warning from God, and he was hurt in battle and died, and all the people mourned for him. The kings after him did evil, and they mocked God's messengers and would not humble themselves. So Jerusalem was burned, God's house was destroyed, and the people were carried away to Babylon for seventy years. But God had promised this would not be the end. He stirred King Cyrus to say that God's people could go up and build His house again. Paul told the church not to split into groups, for it was Christ who was crucified for them, not any man. Jesus, and His cross alone, is the One who holds God's people together.
