The story in children’s words
Back in Jerusalem, God's people built the altar first and offered sacrifices, even though they were afraid of the people around them. Then they laid the foundation of God's house, and everyone shouted and sang, "He is good; His love lasts forever." Some old men who remembered the first house wept while others shouted for joy. Enemies tried to stop the work and wrote letters to the king, until the builders were forced to stop by force. Paul wrote that God's hidden wisdom was revealed by His Spirit. If the rulers had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Paul said we have the mind of Christ, who helps us understand God's gifts.
