The story in children’s words
Nehemiah served the king far away, and he heard sad news: Jerusalem's wall was broken down and its gates were burned. Nehemiah sat down and wept, and for days he prayed and confessed the sins of God's people. When the king saw his sad face, Nehemiah told him why, and the king kindly sent him to rebuild the city. At night Nehemiah quietly rode around the broken wall and saw how bad it was. Then he told the people, "Come, let us build," and he told them how God's good hand had helped him. The people said, "Let us rise up and build," and family after family began fixing the gates and walls. Paul taught God's people to stay faithful in the place where God called them, for they were bought with a price and belong to Christ. Jesus is the Lord who bought us, and He makes His people strong to do His work.
