The story in children’s words
Families kept building the wall, each working on the part near their own house. Enemies laughed at them and said even a fox could break their wall down, and then they planned to attack. Nehemiah prayed, set guards, and told the people, "Do not be afraid. Remember the Lord, who is great." So the builders worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other, and God stopped the enemies' plan. Then poor families cried out because rich brothers were charging them too much and taking their fields. Nehemiah was angry and made the rich men promise to give everything back, and they did. The psalm says, "Blessed is the one whose sin is forgiven," for God covers our sin when we confess it. Jesus is the One through whom God forgives us and makes us glad again.
