The story in children’s words

The prayer went on, telling how God gave His people the land and good houses and fruit trees. Again and again the people rebelled, and again and again God heard their cries and sent saviors to rescue them. "You are a gracious and merciful God," they prayed; "You did not make an end of us." Then the leaders signed a promise, and all the people agreed to walk in God's law and not forsake His house. Paul said he became like a servant to everyone so that some might be saved. He warned God's people from Israel's story in the desert, saying the rock they drank from was Christ. He promised that God is faithful and always makes a way out when we are tempted. Jesus was with God's people long ago, and He still helps us stand today.
