The story in children’s words

At the dedication of Jerusalem's wall, singers and musicians came from all around to celebrate. Two great choirs stood on the wall and sang thanks to God, and everyone offered sacrifices and rejoiced. Even the women and children rejoiced, so the joy of Jerusalem was heard far away. Later Nehemiah came back and found that a room in God's house had been given to Tobiah the enemy, and that God's workers had not been given their food. He cleaned the rooms, brought back God's vessels, and set faithful men in charge. He also stopped people from buying and selling on God's holy day of rest. Paul began by saying, "Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ." Jesus is the One we copy, and following Him brings God's people joy.
