The story in children’s words

A great king in Persia held a long, rich feast to show off his kingdom. Queen Vashti would not come when he called, so she was removed as queen. The king searched for a new queen, and a young Jewish woman named Esther was chosen, for the king loved her and set the crown on her head. Her cousin Mordecai, who had raised her, uncovered a plan to hurt the king and saved his life. Then proud Haman was lifted up, and everyone bowed to him except Mordecai. Haman became so angry that he tricked the king into ordering that all the Jews be destroyed on one day. Paul taught the church how the Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread and said, "This is my body, which is for you." He also took the cup and called it the new covenant in His blood. Jesus gave Himself for us, and we remember Him until He comes again.
