The story in children’s words

Esther fell at the king's feet with tears and begged him to stop Haman's evil plan. The king gave his ring to Mordecai, and new letters were sent on fast horses to every land. The Jews could now stand up and defend their lives, and the day of sorrow turned into the opposite: gladness, light, and honor. They rested from their enemies and made those days a feast called Purim, sending food to each other and gifts to the poor, year after year. Mordecai became great, and he sought the good of his people and spoke peace to them. Paul said, "You are the body of Christ," and then he showed a most excellent way: love. Love is patient and kind, it bears all things and never fails. Now faith, hope, and love remain, and the greatest of these is love — the very love Jesus showed us.
