The story in children’s words

Job was a good man who feared God and turned away from evil, and he had seven sons, three daughters, and very many animals. Satan said Job only loved God because God had blessed him, so God let Satan take Job's things away, but not his life. In one sad day Job lost his animals, his servants, and even his children, yet he fell down and worshiped and said, "The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away. Blessed be the LORD's name." Then painful sores covered Job's body, and he sat in ashes in great sorrow. His three friends came and sat with him in silence for seven days, because his grief was very great. Then Job wished he had never been born, for he could not understand his pain. Paul told God's people to follow after love and to speak words that build others up and comfort them. Jesus is the Lord who comforts His suffering people and builds them up with His love.
