Kids Corner — Day 249
Song 1:1–4:16 · 2 Corinthians 8:16–24 · Psalm 50:1–23 · Proverbs 22:22–23
Today’s story
Song of Songs celebrates covenant love, delight, faithfulness, and the goodness of committed affection.
Paul handles the church's gift carefully and honorably. Christian generosity should be matched by trustworthy stewardship.
God does not need empty religious performance. He desires thankful worship and lives that honor Him.
Do not take advantage of the poor; the LORD Himself defends them.
The story in children’s words
This is Solomon's beautiful love song. A bride says her beloved's love is better than wine, and she longs to be with him. He calls her beautiful and says, "Rise up, my love, and come away, for winter is past and the flowers are here." She searched the city for him at night until she found him, and she would not let him go. He calls her a locked garden full of sweet spices and good fruit. Paul sent Titus and other trusted brothers to carry a gift of money honestly, in the sight of God and people. The psalm says God owns every animal and does not need our gifts, but He loves a thankful heart that calls on Him in trouble. The great love in this song helps us see the love of Jesus, who wants His people close to Him.
It points to Jesus
Faithful human love is a gift, but it also reminds us that love is meant to be loyal rather than disposable. Jesus loves His people with covenant faithfulness and never exploits the weak.
