Day 251 · September 6
Kids Corner — Day 251
Isaiah 1:1–2:22 · 2 Corinthians 10:1–18 · Psalm 52:1–9 · Proverbs 22:26–27
Today’s story
Isaiah opens with rebellion, empty worship, and a call to return. Yet judgment is not the last word: God promises cleansing and a future when nations come to His light.
Paul refuses worldly measures of power. His authority is for building people up, and his boast is in the Lord.
Human evil may look strong, but God's faithful love endures forever.
Do not make reckless financial promises that can place you in bondage.
The story in children’s words
God spoke through Isaiah to His people in Judah. He said they had turned away from Him, like children who rebelled against a kind father. Their gifts and feasts did not please God, because their hands were full of wrong. God called them to wash clean, stop doing evil, help those who are hurt, and care for widows and children with no father. Then God gave a sweet promise: "Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." One day all nations will come to God's mountain, and swords will be beaten into tools for growing food, and there will be no more war. Paul said his weapons were not of this world, and anyone who boasts should boast in the Lord. Jesus is the One who washes sins white as snow and brings God's peace to the nations.
It points to Jesus
Isaiah begins with stained sinners who need to be made clean. That cleansing reaches its fulfillment in Jesus, whose grace does what religious appearance cannot.
