Day 255 · September 10
Kids Corner — Day 255
Isaiah 10:1–11:16 · 2 Corinthians 12:11–21 · Psalm 56:1–13 · Proverbs 23:6–8
Today’s story
God judges arrogant powers but preserves a remnant. From Jesse's seemingly cut-down family tree, a Spirit-filled Branch will arise and rule with righteousness.
Paul loves the Corinthians enough to confront sin. His goal is not control but their restoration before he comes.
When fear rises, the psalmist chooses trust and remembers that God sees every tear.
Do not be manipulated by stingy hospitality or hidden motives.
The story in children’s words
God warned leaders who made unfair laws and stole from the poor, widows, and children with no father. God used the proud king of Assyria like a tool in His hand, but then God brought that proud king low, like an ax that boasts against the one who swings it. God told His people in Zion not to be afraid. Then He promised a Shoot would grow from the family of Jesse, and God's Spirit would rest on Him. He would judge the poor fairly, and the wolf would live with the lamb, and a little child would lead them. Paul said he would gladly be spent for the people's souls, like a father for his children, and he feared some had not turned from their sins. That promised Shoot is Jesus, who brings God's fairness and peace to the whole earth.
It points to Jesus
Isaiah's Branch is a clear road toward Jesus, the Son of David filled with the Spirit. Unlike proud rulers, He judges rightly and brings true peace.
