Day 257 · September 12
Kids Corner — Day 257
Isaiah 15:1–18:7 · Galatians 1:1–24 · Psalm 58:1–11 · Proverbs 23:12
Today’s story
Isaiah announces judgment over surrounding nations. Human pride, military strength, and political alliances cannot provide lasting security.
Paul opens Galatians fiercely: there is one gospel. His life changed because Jesus Christ revealed Himself and called him by grace.
The psalm longs for righteous judgment when injustice seems entrenched.
Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to knowledge.
The story in children’s words
God gave sad news about Moab and Damascus: their cities would be ruined, and the people would weep and flee. Yet God also spoke of a throne set up in loving kindness, where one from David's house would judge with justice and do right quickly. In that day, people would look to their Maker and stop trusting idols made by their own hands. Paul wrote that there is only one true good news, and no one — not even an angel — should preach a different one. Paul had once hurt God's people, but God called him by grace and showed him His Son, so Paul went and preached the faith he once tried to destroy, and everyone praised God for him. Jesus gave Himself for our sins to rescue us, and He is the King on David's throne of kindness.
It points to Jesus
Paul's testimony has one center: Jesus changed him. The gospel is not a human invention or self-improvement program; it is the good news of God's Son who gave Himself to rescue sinners.
