Day 265 · September 20
Kids Corner — Day 265
Isaiah 39:1–41:16 · Ephesians 1:1–23 · Psalm 66:1–20 · Proverbs 23:25–28
Today’s story
Hezekiah proudly displays his treasures, but Isaiah warns of Babylon. Then the message turns to comfort: God strengthens His weary people and tells them not to fear.
Ephesians opens with an avalanche of grace: chosen in Christ, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, sealed with the Spirit, and joined to the risen Lord who reigns over all.
Come and hear what God has done. He tests His people but does not abandon them.
Give your heart to wisdom and guard yourself from sexual unfaithfulness.
The story in children’s words
Hezekiah proudly showed visitors from Babylon all his gold, silver, and treasures. Isaiah warned that one day everything would be carried away to Babylon. Then God gave words of comfort: "Comfort, comfort my people. Prepare the way of the LORD in the desert." Grass fades and flowers fall, but God's word stands forever. God will come like a shepherd, gathering lambs in His arms and carrying them close to His heart. Those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength and fly up with wings like eagles. Paul said God chose us in Christ before the world was made, and in Him we have forgiveness through His blood. He prayed that our hearts' eyes would be opened to know God's great power, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus is the Shepherd who carries us, and God's forever word points us to Him.
It points to Jesus
Isaiah says, 'Do not fear; I will help you.' Ephesians shows the deepest reason for confidence: believers belong to the risen Jesus, who is above every power and is Head of the church.
