The story in children’s words

God told Jeremiah to buy a clay jar and break it in front of the leaders, as a sign that the city would be broken because the people had turned to idols and hurt the innocent. A priest named Pashhur beat Jeremiah and locked him in the stocks, but Jeremiah kept speaking God's word anyway. When the king asked if God would save them from Babylon's army, Jeremiah had to say no, because the people would not turn back. Paul called God's people children of the light, not of the darkness. Put on faith and love like armor, he said, and hope like a helmet. Rejoice always, pray without stopping, and give thanks in everything. God did not choose us for anger, but for salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so we can live with Him forever.
