The story in children’s words

While Jeremiah was still in prison, God said, "Call to me, and I will answer you and show you great things you do not know." God promised to heal the city, clean His people from their sins, and fill the empty streets again with the voices of joy, of brides and bridegrooms, and of people giving thanks. He promised again that a Branch of righteousness would grow up for David, a King who does what is right. But the people broke a promise they made to God: they set their servants free, then took them back as slaves. Paul warned Timothy that some would wander away from the faith by listening to lies. Train yourself in godliness, Paul said, and be an example in your words, your love, and your faith. Our hope is in the living God, the Savior who came in Jesus.
