The story in children’s words
Jeremiah wrote God's words against Babylon in a book and told Seraiah to tie a stone to it and throw it into the great Euphrates River. "So will Babylon sink, and not rise again," he said, because God repays every wrong. Then the book tells again how Jerusalem fell: the people had no bread, and King Zedekiah was taken away in chains. But the story does not end in darkness. Years later, a new king of Babylon lifted up Judah's King Jehoiachin, spoke kindly to him, set him free from prison, and gave him a seat and food at the king's own table for the rest of his life. Paul told Titus why God saved us: not because of good things we did, but because of His mercy, through Jesus Christ our Savior. We were once foolish and lost, but God's kindness appeared, and He made us heirs of eternal life.
