Kids Corner — Day 315
Ezekiel 23:1–49 · Hebrews 10:18–39 · Psalm 109:1–31 · Proverbs 27:13
Today’s story
Jerusalem's unfaithfulness is compared to betrayal. The passage refuses to make idolatry look harmless.
Because Jesus has opened the way, believers must hold fast, encourage one another, and refuse to throw away confidence.
The psalmist brings injustice honestly before God.
Do not make reckless promises for another person's debt.
The story in children’s words
God told Ezekiel a sad story about two sisters. Their names stood for two cities: Samaria and Jerusalem. Both cities belonged to God, but both forgot Him and ran after the nations and their idols instead. Samaria was punished first, but Jerusalem did not learn from her sister and became even worse. God said judgment would come, so that the people would know He is the LORD. It is a heavy story about how much it hurts God when His own people turn away. The letter to the Hebrews says that where God has forgiven sins, no more offering is needed — Jesus paid it all. It urges us to come near to God, hold on tight to our hope, meet together, and cheer each other on. And it promises, "In a very little while, He who is coming will come." Let us not shrink back, but hold on to Jesus with faith to the end.
It points to Jesus
Holding fast is possible because the One we hold to is faithful.
