Day 320 · November 16
Kids Corner — Day 320
Ezekiel 33:1–34:31 · Hebrews 13:1–25 · Psalm 115:1–18 · Proverbs 27:21–22
Today’s story
Ezekiel is renewed as watchman, and God condemns shepherds who feed themselves. God promises to seek His sheep and place one Shepherd over them.
Hebrews closes with practical faith: love, hospitality, purity, generosity, contentment, and praise through Jesus.
Idols are powerless; trust the living LORD.
Reputation tests the heart; foolishness remains stubborn.
The story in children’s words
God made Ezekiel a watchman again, and He said words full of hope: "I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Turn back, turn back, and live!" Then a man who had escaped came with the news: Jerusalem had fallen. God also spoke against the shepherds of Israel, the leaders who fed themselves but did not feed the sheep. They had not healed the sick, bound up the broken, or searched for the lost, so the sheep were scattered. Then God said the most beautiful thing: "I Myself will search for my sheep and seek them out. I will rescue them, feed them on good pasture, bind up the broken, and strengthen the sick." He promised to set one Shepherd over them and make a covenant of peace. The last chapter of Hebrews calls Jesus "the great Shepherd of the sheep," brought back from the dead by God. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever — He is the good Shepherd God promised, who seeks every lost sheep.
It points to Jesus
Ezekiel's failed shepherds prepare us for Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Hebrews shows His grace reshaping ordinary relationships.
