Day 322 · November 18
Kids Corner — Day 322
Ezekiel 37:1–38:23 · James 1:19–2:17 · Psalm 117:1–2 · Proverbs 28:1
Today’s story
The valley of dry bones becomes alive by God's breath. God can restore what appears completely dead and reunite His people.
Be quick to listen and slow to anger. Hearing without doing deceives us; living faith cares for people and refuses favoritism.
All nations are summoned to praise God's faithful love.
The righteous can stand with courage.
The story in children’s words
God set Ezekiel down in a valley full of dry bones — very many, and very dry. God asked, "Can these bones live?" Ezekiel answered, "Lord, You know." God told him to speak His word to the bones, and as he spoke, there was a rattling noise, and bone joined to bone. Flesh and skin covered them, and then God sent breath into them, and they lived and stood up — a huge army! God said the bones were His people, who felt hopeless and cut off. He promised to open their graves, put His Spirit in them, and bring them home. Then God joined two sticks into one in Ezekiel's hand, to show that His divided people would be one nation again, with one King over them forever. James teaches us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and to be doers of God's word, not just hearers. Real faith shows itself in love — like caring for widows and orphans and not treating rich people better than poor people. The God who breathed life into dry bones gives new life through Jesus, and His living people show their faith by loving deeds.
It points to Jesus
The breath of God raises dry bones; Jesus brings resurrection life. Living faith then moves toward people in need.
