Day 324 · November 20
Kids Corner — Day 324
Ezekiel 40:28–41:26 · James 4:1–17 · Psalm 118:19–29 · Proverbs 28:3–5
Today’s story
The Temple vision continues with careful measurements, emphasizing holiness, order, and God's desire to dwell among His people.
Conflicts grow from disordered desires. Humility means submitting to God, resisting evil, and refusing arrogant plans.
This is the day the LORD has made; salvation comes from Him.
The poor need justice, not exploitation.
The story in children’s words
Ezekiel's guide kept measuring the new temple: gates on the south, east, and north, steps going up, rooms for the singers, and tables where the offerings would be prepared. Inside were the holy place and the most holy place, and the walls were carved all over with angels and palm trees, one after another, all around the house of God. Everything was measured exactly, because God's house is holy and beautiful. The psalm for today sings, "Open to me the gates of righteousness! The stone the builders refused has become the cornerstone. This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!" James teaches us where fights come from — from selfish wants inside us — and he calls us to draw near to God and be humble. He reminds us that our life is like a puff of mist that soon vanishes, so we should say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this." That rejected stone is Jesus, the cornerstone of God's whole house, and through Him the gates of righteousness stand open for us.
It points to Jesus
God's holy presence exposes proud self-rule. Jesus humbles us and gives grace to those who draw near.
