Today’s story

God's glory returns to the Temple. The defining hope is not architecture but the presence of the LORD among His people.

James confronts injustice, calls for patient endurance, and teaches believers to pray for one another.

God's Word becomes the path of a wholehearted life.

Integrity is better than crooked prosperity.

The story in children’s words

The guide finished measuring the temple rooms, and then the most wonderful thing happened. The glory of the LORD came in through the east gate! His voice was like the roar of many waters, and the whole earth shone with His glory. God said, "This is the place of my throne. Here I will live among my people forever." Then the priests made the new altar clean and ready with offerings for seven days. The great song, Psalm 119, begins today: "Happy are those who walk in the LORD's way. I have hidden Your word in my heart, so I will not sin against You." James calls God's people to be patient, like a farmer waiting for the rain and the harvest, because the Lord is coming. He teaches that the prayer of a righteous person works with great power, like Elijah's prayers that stopped and started the rain. And if someone wanders away from the truth, the one who brings him back saves a soul. Jesus is the Lord whose glory filled the temple, and He is coming again — so let us hide His word in our hearts and pray with power.

It points to Jesus

God's glory returns; James calls us to prayerful perseverance. Jesus makes God's presence our deepest hope.
