Day 346 · December 10
Kids Corner — Day 346
Amos 7:1–9:15 · Revelation 3:7–22 · Psalm 131:1–3 · Proverbs 29:23
Today’s story
Amos sees judgment coming, yet the book ends with restoration: David’s fallen house will be raised and God’s people planted again.
Jesus addresses Philadelphia and Laodicea. He opens doors no one can shut, calls for endurance, and rebukes lukewarm self-sufficiency.
David quiets his soul before God like a weaned child resting with its mother. Proverb Summary Pride brings us low; humility prepares us for honor. Discover Jesus Jesus is the true King from David’s line. He stands at the door calling self-sufficient people back into fellowship with Him. Reflect Where has comfort made me lukewarm or self-reliant? Fellowship What helps your soul become quiet enough to hear Christ’s correction?
The story in children’s words
God showed Amos locusts and fire coming on the land, and Amos begged God to forgive, and God relented. Then Amos saw a plumb line, a tool that shows if a wall is straight, and God's people were not straight at all. A priest told Amos to stop speaking, but Amos said God had taken him from his sheep and sent him. At the end, God promised to lift up David's fallen tent again, bring His people home, and plant them in their land for good. Jesus praised Philadelphia for keeping His word, and set an open door before them that no one can shut. To Laodicea He said, "You are neither hot nor cold," but He still stood at their door and knocked. Jesus says, "If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in."
